Hensley is scheduled to be sentenced on February 9th, 2026,

Jefferson County, Indiana — Harve Hensley was tried on January 7th, 2026, before Superior Court Judge Blaine Goode, on charges of Stalking, a Level 5 felony and Perjury, a Level 6 felony. The matter was taken under advisement, and the verdict was pronounced on January 12th, 2026, resulting in convictions on both counts. This marks Hensley’s third criminal trial conviction in the past five years.
“We commend Judge Blaine Goode for his thorough and meticulous review of all the evidence presented, which led to a just conviction and ensured that Harve Hensley is held accountable for his actions.” said Prosecutor David Sutter.
The convictions stem from a years-long pattern of harassment regarding real estate in Deputy, Indiana. Evidence presented at trial established that after the lawful sale of the property in 2019, Hensley repeatedly claimed ownership despite having no legal interest in the property and relentlessly harassed the rightful property owner.
“This case is not about a property dispute. It is about a family who lawfully purchased land in Deputy, Indiana, with the intention of building a future, and instead has been forced to live in fear every time they step onto that property. For years, the defendant has refused to accept the finality of a legal sale, continuing to harass and intimidate the victim in an ongoing attempt to take their livelihood.” said Prosecutor David Sutter.
Hensley continuously attempted to disrupt the title of the victim’s property, including attempting to file a certification of trust signed under the penalties of perjury. Following Hensley’s relentless actions, multiple protective orders were issued against Hensley by the Jefferson Circuit Court, prohibiting him from contacting the victim, victim’s family, or being present at the property.
Despite these court orders, Hensley’s conduct continued. He sent an eviction notice to the victim, filed documents falsely asserting legal authority over the property, paid the property taxes and changed his mailing address after Courts, all to frustrate the victim’s ownership. At trial, multiple exhibits were entered to show the number of times that Hensley filed erroneous documents in attempts to deprive the victim of her right to the property, and numerous court orders from various judges and the court of appeals condemning Hensley’s actions and finding him to have no legal merit.
The court found that Mr. Hensley’s actions caused the victim real fear through the course of his actions, with Judge Goode stating, “you have trampled her rights”.
Hensley is scheduled to be sentenced on February 9th, 2026, in the Jefferson County Superior Court
“We are greatly appreciative of the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office for their diligent assistance in providing certified court documents that were vital at trial. Their work was instrumental in our presentation of evidence and in obtaining this conviction.” said Prosecutor David Sutter.
