The officials at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management have called for an air quality action day for the following counties...in effect until midnight EDT Thursday night. Harrison Washington Scott Jefferson IDEM encourages everyone to reduce exposure to the hazy and smokey air across the region by doing the following:
* Reduce activity time outdoors
* Avoid exercising by roadways
* Avoid burning wood or any other unnecessary fires
* Combine errands into one trip
* Avoid using gasoline powered equipment or recreational vehicles
* Keep your engined tuned and do not let your engine idle
* Conserve energy by turning off lights
* Conserve energy by setting your thermostat to 75 degrees.
* AFFECTED AREAS: WASHINGTON ... SCOTT ... JEFFERSON ... HARRISON
