IDHS Map Shows Totality Duration for Upcoming Eclipse

INDIANAPOLIS – How long will totality last?

Depending on where you are located within the path of totality on Monday, April 8, the totality of the total solar eclipse will range anywhere from less than a minute to a little over four minutes.

Of the 16 select cities listed by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Bloomington, Franklin, New Castle and Vincennes are expected to experience totality of around four minutes.

Based off the map shown above, viewers in Dearborn and Ripley counties can expect the duration of totality to be between one to three minutes.
