Indiana Schools Able To Delay Fire Evacuation

Idea came after some school shooters used fire alarms as a tactic to get kids out of classrooms

State lawmakers are giving schools an option to wait before evacuating when a fire alarm goes off.

A school safety measure was passed that allows the delay of fire evacuations by up to three minutes.  This would allow teachers and staff to check hallways for threats before sending students out.

The idea came after some school shooters used fire alarms as a tactic to get kids out of classrooms.
