Ivy Tech Campuses Reopen In August; Virtual Express Enrollment Day In June

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Ivy Tech students are being invited back onto campuses throughout Indian for in-person instruction beginning Monday, August 24.

With a new schedule of classes, Ivy Tech students will allow maximum flexibility including both eight and 16-week terms. Classes will be offered online, in-person, and hybrid options.

While spring and summer classes are being held virtually, Ivy Tech is taking all the necessary steps to ensure deep cleaning of all buildings taking place prior to the start of classes in August.

Preventative protocols to reduce the risk of transmission will also be implemented across campuses.

The school also set out five guiding principles for the return to campus which can be found below:

Guiding Principles for Return to Campus:

1. The safety of faculty, staff, and students is paramount.
2. We want to manage campus density with a preference to students, faculty, and front-line staff who serve students.
3. We prefer office areas to allow social distancing between desks/cubicles over installing additional barriers.
4. For those who are fully productive working remotely, we should consider/allow it…especially if we can reduce the density of people in our facilities while providing those face-to-face services and educational experiences our students need to succeed.
5. We prefer areas where we serve students (EEC, classrooms, labs, etc.) to allow for social distancing over utilizing barriers. Facial coverings (e.g. masks) are also required/recommended per the facial coverings policy (click link to review policy).

On Thursday, June 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Ivy Tech is hosting its Virtual Express Enrollment Day begins. This Virtual Enrollment Day is a great opportunity for prospective students to sign up for classes that begin July 6 or August 24.

During this event, participants will learn more about courses, meet with an advisor, or set up an appointment and register for classes.
