JCHD Pledge to the Five Commitments of Containment

It is still our responsibility to adhere to basic protective measures and social distancing guidelines.

J

(Jefferson County, Ind.) – While some restrictions have been reduced by Governor Holcomb’s new executive order, the Jefferson County Health Department would like you to know this does not reduce our individual responsibility.

It is still our responsibility to adhere to basic protective measures and social distancing guidelines. Now that gatherings of up to 25 people are permitted, it is still required to make responsible choices when we are outside of our homes.

It is important to remember that your behavior affects those around you and is a reflection of your respect for not only your own health but the health of our community.

With these things in mind the Jefferson County Board of Health, in accordance with the orders of Governor Holcomb is urging all residents to take a personal pledge to follow the “Five Commitments of Containment.”

Which are as follows:

  • I will maintain 6 feet of social distance
  • I will wash my hands often
  • I will cover my face in public with a cloth mask when social distancing isn’t possible
  • I will stay at home when I am sick
  • I will get tested immediately if I have symptoms
