28 arrested

Jennings Co. Sheriff Kenny Freeman and Chief James Webster are committed to making our community a safer place. One of the ways in making it safer is by allowing officers from each department to participate in a “Criminal Enforcement Blitz” which includes saturation road patrol, warrant service, and assisting parole and probation with home searches.

During the blitz, Indiana Parole Agents, Jennings County Probation Officers, North Vernon Police Officers, Jennings County Deputies and Jennings County Jail Officers team up and search homes of people on parole and probation while seeking people actively wanted on arrest and parole warrants. Other officers saturate areas with high traffic and conduct traffic stops on people violating traffic laws.

A blitz was conducted on August 28, 2019 and carried over into the morning hours on August 29, 2019. During this blitz, 28 people were arrested on various charges including OWI, arrest warrants, parole warrants, drug charges and resisting.

All agencies involved would like to thank Jennings County Dispatch for their involvement. During a “Criminal Enforcement Blitz” over 20 law enforcement officers are working which requires additional dispatchers to be working.

The public can expect more of these types of activities as Chief Webster and Sheriff Freeman make criminal enforcement a priority.
