Former Secretary was prohibited

A piece of legislation passed thru the General Assembly this past session and it went into effect this past Thursday that allowed for Kentucky's Secretary of State to be restored as the chair of the State Board Of Elections this postion had been historically been a job of the Secretary of State
Before current Republican Secretary Michael Adams took office in 2019 the General Assembly enacted a bill that would prohibit former Secretary of State Alison Grimes from chairing the State Board Of Elections amid scandals that included a criminal investigation.
Bill 216 passed the Kentucky Senate by a vote of 28 to 9 and Kentucky House Of Representatives 71-18 after overriding a veto by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear
