Kentucky State Police Charge Prison Contract Employee with Sodomy 3rd

LAGRANGE, Ky. (07/01/2022) –On Friday July 1, 2022 at approximately 3:13 pm, Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call from Roederer Correctional Complex in Lagrange in reference to an employee engaging in illegal sexual contact with an inmate. 

A detective with Kentucky State Police Post 5 was dispatched and conducted an investigation of the allegations.  The preliminary investigation determined an on duty correction officer observed a contract food services employee with the inmate.  The employee, who was identified as Duncan Thornton a 21 year old male from Lagrange, and the inmate were interviewed throughout the course of the investigation. Both parties admitted to engaging in illegal sexual contact.

Thornton was arrested and charged with Sodomy 3rd Degree.  He was transported to and lodged at the Oldham County Detention Center. 

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5 detectives.
