Kentucky State Police Investigates Shooting on Interstate 71

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 5 detectives.

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) - On November 29, Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a 911 call in reference to a shooting on Interstate 71 near the 38-mile marker.  The caller reported that his passenger had been shot multiple times by a person in a separate vehicle.  The caller was able to give a vehicle description as well as registration plate information.

The vehicle was located on Interstate 75 by Boone County Sheriff's deputies.  The preliminary investigation found the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident prior to the shooting. 

The victim was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital.  The suspect, Dammien Shammond Peterson, a 22-year-old male from Columbus, Ohio was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and was lodged at the Oldham County Detention Center.  

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 5 detectives.
