Louisville man admits to shooting out windows of KSP cruiser in Henry Co.

The incident happened on August 20 in Sulphur

A Louisville man is accused of shooting the windows of a Kentucky State Police cruiser in Henry County.

Police say, Elijah Bellaphant, 22, was interviewed at the Jeffersontown Police Department on suspicion of shooting two rounds into the driver's window of a KSP cruiser.

Officials say Bellaphant admitted to driving a stolen 2016 white jeep, and stated that he fired two rounds into the driver's window, where the cruiser was parked outside a residence on Fox Creek Road in Sulphur, Kentucky.

 The bullets destroyed a handheld speed laser, valued at $1,700. Combined with the damages to a riot baton and the cost of the glass replacement, total damages have been estimated at $2,046.75.

Bellaphant was on the Felony Diversion program in Jefferson County from an incident in February of 2016.

Bellaphant is facing charges of criminal mischief, receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He is bing held in the Oldham County jail.
