In late October 2024, MPD Detective Ricky Harris received a cybertip regarding the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) involving children believed to be less than 12 years of age. The cybertip was received as part of MPD's partnership with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) taskforce. Through the course of Detective Harris' investigation, he was able to quickly develop a suspect, Sean M. Kellen, 35, Madison, and obtain a search warrant for Kellen's residence. Detective Harris later located, interviewed and arrested Kellen on two (2) separate charges.

Sean M. Kellen, 35, Madison

Count 1 - Child Exploitation/Possession of Child of Pornography - Level 5 Felony

Count 2 - Child Exploitation/Possession of Child of Pornography - Level 5 Felony

Kellen is currently housed in the Jefferson County Jail, with no bond, while he awaits his initial hearing. Detective Harris was assisted in his investigation by MPD Detective Phillip Wimpee and the Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office.

Criminal charges are merely accusations, and Kellen has the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law
