Madison Man Arrested on Public Nudity Charge

According to the officers investigation, Ledbetter was attempting to satisfy a religious mission.



(Madison, Ind.) - On Sunday, May 10 officers with the Madison police department arrested Derek A. Ledbetter, 33, of Madison on a charge of public nudity. 

Madison Police Patrolman Cameron Blankenship was requested to assist the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department with a reported nude male standing in the intersection of State Highway's 62 & 256. 

Upon arrival, Officer Blankenship located Ledbetter, nude, in the parking lot of Cruisin Auto Sales.  Ledbetter was taken into custody without incident.

According to the officers investigation, Ledbetter was attempting to satisfy a religious mission.  

Officer Blankenship was assisted by Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies C.J. Miller and Curtis Shelpman. 

Ledbetter has the presumption of innocence until a otherwise proven guilty on the alleged stated charge of public nudity.
