Madison Names Brierly New Athletic Director

Devin Brierly was hired as the Athletic Director at Madison Schools, she is the first female to serve in that position for the school corporation.

She has served as assistant athletic director the last three years.

Former Athletic Director Patric Morrison state “Three years ago, I had the opportunity to hire someone who I believed would be a good assistant athletic director,” Morrison said during his comments at the meeting. “Today, I can confidently say that Devin Brierly has far exceeded those expectations, and has been an exceptional co-worker, and the driving force behind our athletic department’s growth, and is now making history by being the first female athletic director for Madison Consolidated Schools"

She will assume her role on Aug 2nd were she will be able “to continue the work that we accomplished together.”.

She graduated from Southwestern in 2008, was a standout basketball and softball player and pitcher for the Lady Rebels, leading them to two regional runner-up finishes in basketball and a Class 2A Final Four in softball. She then played collegiately at Butler University with four years of baseball and one year of softball.

Morrison spent three years as athletic director after replacing Joe Bronkella. He was assistant athletic director under Bronkella for three years prior to that following a successful five-year stint as head football coach. He will remain apart of the school as an assistant football coach for the Cubs and Coach Benintende.

Kyle Boekeloo will take over Brierly’s position as assistant athletic director.
