MADISON WOMAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING DISPUTE

OUT OF STATE CHARGES ALONG WITH NEW CHARGES

                                     SMITH

February 13, 2022, at approximately 9:18 PM Madison Police responded to a disturbance, between two males, in the 500 block of Jefferson Street.  

Amy M. Smith 41, Madison, Indiana, an acquaintance of one of the males involved in the argument, was present when officers arrived.  A status check on Smith found that she was wanted out of the State of Kentucky, for probation violation. No charges were filed against the males. 

A search of Smith's person, subsequent to arrest, found her to be in possession of methamphetamine.  Patrol Officer Kayla Taylor-Moore conducted the search.  The investigation was led by Patrolman Kyle Potter, with the assistance of Patrol Officer Nichole Midgett. 

In addition to the Kentucky warrant, Amy Smith faces a local charge of possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony.  Smith has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
