Madison Woman Arrested for Battery on Juvenile at Rykers Ridge

On February 28, 2025, the Madison Consolidated School District was made aware of a possible battery that occurred at Ryker's Ridge Elementary School.

On March 4, 2025, Jefferson County Sheriff's Detective Yancy Denning took over the investigation. Detective Denning spent hours conducting the subsequent follow-up investigation, including numerous CAC interviews with possible victims, witnesses, and school administrators.

On March 25, 2025, the investigation led to the arrest of Sammi Clark, 19, of Madison.

Clark was transported to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Jail and was preliminarily charged with six counts of:

I.C. 35-42-2-1(c)(1)-battery on a person less than 14 years old.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office shares the events of arrest for the purpose of keeping the public informed.
