Madison Woman Arrested On Auto Theft Charge

April 12, 2022, at approximately 2:24 PM Madison Police Patrolman Kyle Lane executed a traffic stop, on a reported stolen vehicle, at the corner of Second and Mill Streets.  The vehicle in question, a 2001 GMC Yukon, was previously reported stolen out of Switzerland County, Indiana.  

The driver of the stolen vehicle was identified as Sarah A. Proctor 22, Madison, Indiana.  Proctor complied with officers and was taken into custody without incident.  The subsequent search of the stolen vehicle found Proctor to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia associated with the use of narcotics.

Sarah Proctor faces preliminary alleged charges of auto theft  L-6 felony, possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony, possession of marijuana class B misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia class C misdemeanor.  Proctor has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.  Officers Zack Nicholson, & Jared Sweet assisted.
