(Madison, IN) - Principal Lawhead made a post last week informing the community of the passing of Ms. Denise Gillete. "It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of one of our beloved veteran teachers, Ms. Denise Gillette. Ms. Gillette passed away last night, and our school community mourns the loss of an incredible educator and mentor."

Ms. Gillette dedicated many years of teaching as a social studies teacher. She was known for spreading kindness, her passion for teaching, and her dedication to her profession.

School counselors are available to support students who need someone to talk to. Parents can reach out via email if they feel their child would benefit talking to someone.

They will continue her legacy this Thursday on the MCHS track. A memorial walk will take place from 8:00 to 9:00pm. Faculty, students, and all community members are invited to attend. Participants can choose to walk a lap all the way to a mile. Participants are also encouraged to create cards, sign a banner, and share memories. The lantern release will take place at 9:00.
