Madison Woman Honored As Mental Health America of Indiana Consumer Advocate of the Year 2023

Deana Andrew was recognized as Mental Health America of Indiana Consumer Advocate of the Year 2023 for start-up of Recovery Cafe Madison and Citizens of Jefferson County for Suicide Prevention.

Indianapolis, IN – December 13, 2023 – Mental Health America of Indiana is thrilled to announce the outstanding recipients of the 2023 Heroes for Recovery Awards, celebrated at the highly successful 2023 Mental Health and Addiction Symposium held on Friday, December 8th, 2023, at the Marriott East, Indianapolis. With over 800 attendees, this year's Symposium marked a significant milestone in advancing awareness and support for behavioral health issues in our community.

The Heroes for Recovery Awards are a testament to the dedication and excellence displayed by individuals, teams, and organizations committed to the field of behavioral health. This year's winners have demonstrated exceptional contributions to the industry, positively impacting the lives of countless individuals living with behavioral health conditions. The recipients of each award are as follows:

Advocate of the Year (Two Awards): Deana Andrew (Madison, Indiana) Connie Young Behavioral Health Professional of the Year: Dick Boggess (Fort Wayne, Indiana) Behavioral Health Team of the Year: DMHA Competency Restoration Workgroup Recovery Residence of the Year: Genesis House (Harrison County) Behavioral Health Recovery Coach of the Year: Ashley Davis.
