MPD Join Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

The task force helps state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation.

(Madison, Ind.) – The City of Madison Police Department has recently joined the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).

The ICAC Task Force Program is a national network ​of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 4,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. The task force helps state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation.

“With this work through the program and Operation Predator Net we have stopped and will continue to stop countless young children from becoming victims,” said Madison Police Detective Shaw Scudder. “Victimization of children is one of the most horrific crimes, with the support of City Council and the Mayor we will continue the extremely important work of protecting our most vulnerable.”

According to Detective Scudder, as members of ICAC, the Madison Police Department will continue to gain access to forensics across the country as well as the proper training needed to continue to combat these crimes across the community.
