Mulberry Street Parking Lot Project Gets Underway Today

This project is apart number of READI grant projects throughout the city.

The Mulberry Street parking lot project will kick off tomorrow! This means the lot will be temporarily closed as we begin construction on our second Destination Madison project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Mulberry Street Arts Corridor is one of six projects utilizing READI Grant dollars to improve Madison's quality of life and regional appeal. The corridor on Mulberry Street from Main Street to Second Street will save one of the region's most intact early 19th-century commercial blocks from years of disinvestment.

Project partners include the Madison Area Arts Alliance, the City of Madison's Economic Redevelopment Office, the Southern Indiana Regional Development Authority, and Schutte Excavating.

To learn more, please visit our project page: madison-in.gov/destinationmadison.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

You can expect fence panels and barricades to be brought in and staged in preparation. The lot will be temporarily closed for use and will re-open upon the project's completion.

To accommodate parking needs, drivers can park their vehicles in the lot adjacent to the project, beside the former Ruler/JayC grocery store building, at the corner of Second and Mulberry St.
