(Jennings County, Ind.) - On Friday, May 29 the Jennings County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report stating a man in Country Squire Lakes was asking children to get into his vehicle.
Deputies responded to the area where Deputy Chris Gholson conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in question.
As Deputy Gholson was approaching the vehicle, he allegedly witnessed the driver, Charles E. Messer,47, of North Vernon, drinking from an alcohol bottle.
After investigating, Messer was taken into custody where he is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail on the charges of Operating Vehicle While Intoxicated (Level 5 Felony), Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor), Public Intoxication (Class B Misdemeanor), Refusal of a Chemical Test (License Suspension Up to One Year).
