(Jennings County, Ind.) – On February 3, deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Mark Liles, of North Vernon on a warrant for level 3 felony rape.

The arrest comes after a nearly four-month investigation that began on October 9, 2020, when Sergeant Doug Brown was notified that a juvenile female has been the victim of an unwanted sexual encounter while at a residence in Sand Creel Township.

During the investigation, it was determined that Liles picked up the female at her residence and took her to a remote cabin in Sand Creek Township where Liles made unwanted sexual advances after being told to stop.

Liles is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail without bond.
