One Person Injured In Hanover Barn Fire

Attempted to put out themselves

On Saturday, April 20 at approximately 03:53am, the Hanover fire department was paged to the report of a barn fire at 222 east Main Street in Hanover. Chief Meredith reports when first unit arrived on location, there was heavy fire and smoke coming from the structure. The home owner tried to control the fire with a garden hose unit till fire units arrived on location. The quick action of the Sheriff’s deputies on scene removed the home owner away from the fire. 

 Chief Meredith reports that there was a male subject who was taken to KDH for smoke inhalation and burns. KDH EMS transported. His condition is unknown at this time. The fire is under investigation by the Hanover Fire Department. 

Chief Meredith states if you have a fire at your home move to a safe area and remain there. Fire personal will assess the situation and respond accordingly.
