This phase marks continued investment in the downtown corridor
Madison, Indiana (August 6, 2025) –The City of Madison will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the next phase of the Re-Envisioning Main Street Project, a major infrastructure project currently underway. This phase marks our continued investment in the downtown corridor, focusing on safety improvements, enhanced accessibility, and beautification efforts.
This phase of the project includes milling and paving, as well as improvements and replacements to sidewalks for ADA accessibility in some areas, and storm drain repair from Broadway to Mill Street. It also includes the addition of pedestrian safety bump-outs at Elm Street, Vine Street, and Broadway Street.

Where: The south side of Broadway Fountain on Main Street and Broadway Street
Who: Madison’s Mayor Bob G. Courtney, City officials, project partners, and community leaders will be on hand to speak about the project’s goals and benefits.
