Accident and fire
Versailles Firefighters responded to a two vehicle accident on U.S. 50 at the intersection with U.S. 421 west of Versailles Sunday. Firefighters extricated one patient. Fortunately there were no serious injuries.
At approximately 8:20pm on October 21st, the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the area of 9560 South State Road 129 for the report of a combine smoking possibly on fire. Upon arrival a small smoldering fire was extinguished with approximately 300 gallons of water. The combine suffered very minimal damage. It appears the fire originated from a bearing failure.
