Roof Replacement Starts Friday at Switz. Co. Schools

There will be some traffic impacts.

(Vevay, Ind.) - A roof replacement project will begin Friday at Switzerland County Schools.

Superintendent Rod Hite has announced that the school's insurance company has approved the 2024 hail damage roof replacement for the high school and middle school.

The project will come with some traffic impacts. Motorists will see a number of dumpster deliveries, material deliveries, and personnel working on the buildings. The company is taking all necessary safety precautions and is planning on working around drop off and pick up times.

The majority of deliveries will take place behind the buildings, and most of the work should not impact drop off and pick up.

Superintendent Hite asks that parents limit arriving too early for pick up. Parking and waiting in the afternoon may block dumpsters that may be located in front of the high school.

"We are trying to limit any disruption to the flow of traffic. The middle school will be a two to three month process. The high school will be a three to four month process," said Hite.

All work is weather dependent.
