The arrest followed an investigation

Austin – An Austin man was arrested after an Indiana State Police (ISP) investigation into alleged battery to a child.
On April 4, 2025, Indiana State Police Trooper Kyle Taylor responded to a report of possible battery to a 4-year-old child. The incident allegedly occurred on April 3, 2025, in Scott County. Trooper Taylor requested assistance from an ISP detective. The child was evaluated by a forensic team at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville as the investigation continued. Officers worked with investigators from the Indiana Department of Child Services, who interviewed the child on April 10, 2025. Detectives also interviewed 31-year-old Joshua D. Wright as part of the investigation.
On April 11, 2025, after all information was provided to the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office, an arrest warrant was issued for Joshua D. Wright for Battery on a Person Less Than 14 Committed by a Person at Least 18, a Level 5 Felony, and Domestic Battery against a child under 14 years of age, a Level 6 Felony. ISP detectives arrested Joshua D. Wright on the warrant that same day. Wright was transported to the Scott County Jail without incident.
