On April 4, 2025, Indiana State Police Trooper Kyle Taylor responded to a report of possible battery to a 4-year-old child. The incident allegedly occurred on April 3, 2025, in Scott County. Trooper Taylor requested assistance from an ISP detective. The child was evaluated by a forensic team at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville as the investigation continued. Officers worked with investigators from the Indiana Department of Child Services, who interviewed the child on April 10, 2025. Detectives also interviewed 31-year-old Joshua D.
