Scott County Man Arrested On Reckless Driving Charges

(Scott County, Ind.) – On March 16, Corporal Johnney Coomer with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle traveling recklessly on Boatman Road.

Corporal Coomer also learned that the Austin Police Department has just received a call of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident matching the same description. The vehicle was then located turning into a residential area in Scottsburg.

As Corporal Coomer was making contact with the vehicle, the driver attempted to drive through a home located in the Amberly Point Community where there were kids playing in the area.

Corporal Coomer was assisted by First Sergeant John Hartman and Deputies Skylar Thompson, Zach Brown, and Jessica Dickey.  The Scottsburg City Police also assisted in apprehending the suspect.

At the completion of the investigation 36-year-old, Jonathan Stidham was on the alleged charges of failure to stop after a property damage accident, criminal mischief, criminal recklessness-reckless driving, neglect of a dependent, and driving while intoxicated, among others.
