Jefferson County Sheriff’s Investigating Shooting of Two Individuals Near Volga

The two males broke into the residence early this morning

 

Two men were shot and killed in what was an attempted home invasion Thursday morning near Volga.

The investigation is underway by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department into the shooting of two males at a residence located on N. Bulldog Drive off Deputy Pike near Neavill's Grove. 

Early Thursday morning a 911 call was received from a residence at N. Bulldog Drive at approximately 3:48 a.m. The caller advised that he had shot two people who had broken into his residence.

Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene at 3:53 a.m. and secured the scene. Two male individuals were found to be deceased at the residence. The two male individuals were later identified as 27 yo Dalton Keith Skirvin,  and 29 yo Kaleb Adam Skirvin, both from Madison Indiana. Next of kin notification was made by the Jefferson County Coroners Office. 

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in this investigation by the City of Madison Police Department, the Indiana State Police, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Jefferson County 911/Central Dispatch, and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Jefferson County Sheriff Ben Flint stated "There is no immediate danger or risk to the general public".

The investigation into shooting is ongoing.
