State Road 129 remains closed

Will Stay Closed till October

                                          (INDOT)

State Road 129 remains closed between State Road 250 and State Road 56 for a full-depth pavement reclamation project. As previously announced, this closure will be in place through late September, but additional work discovered when wet materials were found under the existing roadway may extend the project into October.

Full-depth reclamation is an in-place recycling method used for reconstruction of existing pavement. During the closure, crews will mill the roadway surface, till the subbase, add stabilizer, and resurface the road.

The detour for this 12 mile closure follows State Road 56 and State Road 250. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses along this stretch of road. All other traffic should use the detour or another alternate route.

The lower third section of the closure is milled and unmarked, while the upper two thirds has temporary markings in place. The contractor will be conducting paving operations this week, including on Saturday and Sunday, with flaggers directing any local traffic they might encounter. Temporary striping will be placed by Sunday or Monday.
