Stolen Vehicle Report Leads to Arrest of Two

Jennings County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Aurora Police Department in reference to a stolen vehicle.

(Jennings County, Ind.) - On February 24, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Aurora Police Department in reference to a stolen 2000 Blue Jeep Grand Cherokee that was possibly in Jennings County.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., Sergeant Cody Low located a vehicle matching the description near Country Manor and Walnut Grove Lane in Country Squire Lakes. As Sgt. Low turned around to get behind the vehicle, it then pulled into a driveway at a nearby residence.

Sgt. Low then pulled behind the vehicle to confirm that it was the stolen Jeep, he said reported that a male then exited the vehicle and then walked to the front door of the residence where he started knocking.

After confirming the Jeep was stolen, Sgt. Low then started giving verbal commands to the male who refused to comply. He also instructed the male that he needed to comply, or he would release his canine.

The male who was found to be, Jarede Bonds, then complied and was arrested it was also found that Bonds was on Parole through Indiana. During the investigation, deputies found both Methamphetamine and Marijuana inside the vehicle.

The vehicle passenger Mikayla B. Cameron, 26, of North Vernon, was taken into custody as well, it was then learned that Cameron had left her three children with a family member that was unable to provide necessary care for the children.

Bonds was arrested on the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Auto Theft (Level 6 Felony), and his bond is $6,255.00 (Doubled due to being on parole).

Cameron was arrested on the charges of Auto Theft (Level 6 Felony), Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Marijuana (Level 6 Felony), and a bond of $1,055.00
