(Vevay, Ind.) – Celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D is closing up shop and permanently moving to Indiana.

Von D made local headlines in December of 2020 when she purchased the historic Schenck House in Vevay for $1.5 million.

The historic home was built in 1874 and features a four-story tower, four porches, seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, eight chimneys, 13 fireplaces, and 35 rooms.

In a Facebook post Monday, Kat Von D announced that she will be closing her beloved tattoo shop High Voltage Tattoo in West Hollywood on December 1.

“As some of you know, we recently purchased a beautiful home on a bit of land in rural Indiana, and the more time we spend out there we realize we feel more at home there than we do here in LA,” said Von D.
