At approximately 1:01 a.m. Madison Police Patrolman Josh Nolan conducted a traffic stop on Michigan Road, at Miles Ridge Road for improper registration and crossing the centerline.

Captain Mundt and his K-9 partner Zimo arrived on the scene and conducted an open-air search of the vehicle.

Zimo gave Captain Mundt a positive indication that narcotics were present in the vehicle.  The K-9's alert gave officers probable cause to search the vehicle, in which the above-stated narcotics were located.  In addition to the narcotics, officers seized U.S. Currency as well.

Josh L. Mahoney, 25, of Madison was then arrested.

Mahoney has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
