Two Arrested Following Multi-County Pursuit

Both were wanted out of Clark County

                                                          I-65 Pursuit 1

Saturday two New Albany, Indiana residents were arrested after leading officers on a vehicle pursuit through three counties.

The initial investigation by Detectives with the Indiana State Police-Sellersburg Post indicated that shortly before 3:00 pm, Officers with the Seymour Police Department responded to Home Depot in Seymour, Indiana after receiving reports of an attempted theft.  Officers arrived on scene as the suspects left the property in a Uhaul box truck.

Seymour Police Officers attempted to stop the vehicle as the vehicle merged onto I-65 Southbound.  Indiana State Troopers, as well as officers from other law enforcement agencies, joined in pursuing the vehicle that fled southbound through Jackson County.  In southern Jackson County, the suspect, later identified as Chance L. Money, age 36, New Albany, Indiana, drove the Uhaul through the median and continued fleeing southbound in the northbound lanes of I-65 towards oncoming traffic.

A trooper with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post entered the median crossover near the 34-mile marker in northern Scott County.  The trooper attempted to place a tire deflation device on the roadway in the path of the truck.  Money then drove through the median towards the trooper.  The trooper fired at least one round from his handgun in the direction of the vehicle.  Neither Money, nor his passenger, Jessica N. Holliday, age 36, New Albany, Indiana were struck or injured.

Money drove back into the southbound lanes of I-65.  The vehicle continued fleeing through Scott County and into Clark County.  The vehicle eventually came to a stop on I-65 near the nine mile marker, near Sellersburg, Indiana.  Money and Holliday were both taken into custody without further incident.

Money and Holliday were both wanted on felony warrants out of Clark County, Indiana.  Holliday had a protection order against Money at the time of the incident.  Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also located in the truck.

Chance Money was transported to the Clark County Jail where he was initially being held on felony charges of Invasion of Privacy, Criminal Recklessness with a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement, and misdemeanor charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia in addition to the Clark County warrant.  Holliday was transported to the Clark County Jail on initial misdemeanor charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia in addition to her Clark County warrant.

Both suspects will soon face initial appearances in court in Clark County, Indiana.

Arrest photos may be obtained through the Clark County Jail.

Numerous police agencies were involved in the pursuit and investigation into the incident, which lasted over thirty minutes and went through three Indiana counties.
