(Jefferson County Ind.) – Around 2:05 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an accident on 256 near South Grange Hall Rd.
Upon arrival, the responding deputy found the vehicle in question unattended.
The vehicle struck an electric pole leaving many residents without power for six hours, Duke Energy was able to restore the power around 7:50 a.m.
The sheriff’s department stated that at this time the driver is still unidentified, and the vehicle was not marked as stolen.
The sheriff’s department is currently investigating the incident.
