Vevay Police Arrest Skinny Dipper Swimming In The Ohio River

Charged with public intoxication and public nudity

On July 17, 2018, at approximately 3:35 PM, Officers from the Vevay Police Department were dispatched to a male subject swimming in the Ohio River.

Officers arrived on scene, to locate a nude male subject swimming in front of the boat docks. The male subject, who is identified as James Jones of Florence, KY, swam back to shore and is being charged with public intoxication and public nudity.

The Vevay Police was assisted by the Switzerland County Sheriff's Office and Switzerland County Emergency Response.

We want to remind everyone of the dangers of swimming in the Ohio River. Please be careful around bodies of water and not swim in fast current waters.

All persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
