She could possibly modify her sentence
On June 9, 2022, Alyssa Snipp of Scottsburg was convicted of Dealing in Methamphetamine and her plea agreement called for her to serve a sentence of eight years in the Indiana Department of Correction. Her Plea Agreement allows for her to participate in treatment while in prison and offers her a chance to modify her sentence if she successfully completes her treatment so long as she does not have any conduct violations while in prison.
This conviction and sentence stemmed from an investigation of the Indiana State Police in which they used a confidential informant to purchase methamphetamine from Ms. Snipp in her residence on December 14, 2021. After the controlled buy, charges were filed and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Once the warrant was issued, officers with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence and arrested Ms. Snipp. During the arrest, drugs were found both in the home and the vehicle that had been driven by Ms. Snipp.
“This is just another example of our office working with law enforcement to take drug dealers out of Scott County,” stated Chris Owens, Scott County Prosecuting Attorney. He further stated, “I am proud to work alongside the police agencies within our community to get drugs off our streets and to send the people dealing these poisons to prison. I would like to thank the law enforcement agencies involved for their work that led to this conviction. I also want to thank Deputy Prosecutor Mark Kiesler for his work in obtaining the conviction and sentence in this matter.”
