New basketball coach at Trimble Co.,Shawe wins sectional, Southwestern golf champions

FRIDAY, MAY 18th:

Shawe girls tennis advances to play Jennings County in the sectional Championship after a 4-1 win over Southwestern.

Jennings Co. was a 3-2 winner over host Greensburg in Friday’s other semifinal. 

Southwestern’s Emma Foley advances to the regional singles tournament after defeating Shawe’s Megan Hesse in the #1 singles match.

 

Former Trimble County player and coach Ron Couch has been named varsity head coach of the Raiders’ boys basketball program. He succeeds Stacy May, who resigned from that position earlier this month. Couch is a 1991 graduate of Trimble Co. High School.

 

SATURDAY, MAY 19th:

Shawe Lady Hilltoppers defeat Jennings County 3-2 to win their third consecutive sectional title. Megan Hesse wins third tiebreaker 7-5 to give Toppers the title.

 

Southwestern Rebels won the 2018 ORVC Boys Golf Championship by 46 strokes over second place Milan. Hunter Mefford is the individual medalist shooting a 71.
