TUESDAY

SHAWE GIRLS BASKETBALL PICK UP 52-43 ORVC WIN OVER JAC-CEN-DEL FIRST TIME SINCE 2008

STATEMENT FROM SHAWE GIRLS HEAD COACH DREW KRING

We played a great team game, getting 44 points , Allison Knoebel (18), Audrey Barron (15), and Ava Turner (11). We had a slow start to the game, only scoring 13 points in the first half and no field goals in the second quarter. However, we came out aggressive in the second half scoring 24 in the third and 15 in the fourth. Even though the three led us in scoring, Hunter Mote played a great game handling the ball and allowing those three to go do what they do. As long as she handles the pressure, we are able to be pretty good. Yolett played great defense on their best player and made it difficult all night for her to score.

Couldn’t be more proud of their effort, and like I told them before the game, this is a game good teams find a way to win. We have a lot to improve, but the effort and ability to make plays down the stretch put us over the top.
