Hanover College Men's Basketball Student Athletes Receive NABC Honors Court Recognition

Ratts, Robertson, Washburn, and Albers Claim NABC Honors

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2019-2020 NABC Honors Court, recognizing men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the previous season. The Hanover College men's basketball team saw four student-athletes receive the honor.

To be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be academically a junior or senior and a varsity athlete, earn a cumulative 3.2 grade-point average, belong to an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA with an NABC member coach, and have been enrolled at the current institution for a least one full season.

Senior Logan Ratts (Martinsville, Ind.), senior Blake Robertson (Greenfield, Ind.), junior Connor Washburn (Fishers, Ind.) and junior Mark Albers (Pendleton, Ind.) all received the honor for the Blue and Red.

Ratts played a major role in the Panthers nationally ranked defense as he led the team with 1.6 steals per game while averaging 4.7 rebounds per contest. He tallied a personal best in rebounds (13) as part of his first career double-double on February 12 in the team's victory over Anderson. For his efforts, he was named a 2019-2020 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference selection.

Robertson dominated the offensive side of the ball carrying one of the team's highest three-point percentages. The senior also displayed great success at the free-throw line shooting a team-high 84.6 percent.

Washburn was a force in the paint for the Blue and Red registering eight games with double-digit scoring including a career-high 18 against Anderson. The junior concluded the 2019-2020 campaign ranked third in field goal percentage (66.3) and fourth in points per game (6.9).

Albers closed out the year as one of the team's top offensive threats averaging 10.1 points per game while shooting 42.3 percent from the floor. He posted 12 double-digit performances including a career-high 23 points on January 15 against Transylvania.

Under the guidance of head coach Jon Miller, the Panthers finished the season 17-9 overall with an 11-7 conference mark landing them third among the league. The third-place finish marks the 10th time in 12 years Miller has guided the Blue and Red to a top-three showing.
