Harrison Man Killed in USAC Sprint Car Crash at Lawrenceburg Speedway

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Harrison man died in a USAC sprint crash at Lawrenceburg Speedway. . 

Justin Owen, 26, was involved in a qualifying round crash on Saturday night. His sprint car made contact with the outside wall and flipped multiple times in turn three. 

Owen was competing in the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship event. He was the reigning track champion at Lawrenceburg Speedway, scoring two feature wins and the title in 2022. 

He had become a regular at Lawrenceburg Speedway over the past several seasons. 

The remainder of the event was cancelled following the fatal crash. 

In a statement from USAC, they expressed their deepest condolences to the Owen family, team and many friends throughout the racing community.
