(Southeast Indiana) - This week, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) extended emergency credit to farmers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans.

Farmers in Decatur, Jefferson, Jennings and Ripley counties are eligible to apply due to excessive rain that fell between April and December of 2025.

Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts.

The FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.

The application deadline is October 13.
