Shawe Hilltoppers came out aggressive and it paid off against CAM on Tuesday night. The Hilltoppers pushed th pace and jumped out to a 16 point halftime lead 41-25.
The Toppers got a record setting performance from Junior Cavaan Hambrick as he drilled 9 3 pointers against the Defenders. This breaks a 2 year old Shawe record set in 2024-25 season by Jacob Hertz. Cavaan and Loren were aggressive and hot at the same time as Hambrick ended up with 34 points and Loren Stiver nailed 25 points, both career highs for the Junior stars.
“Cavaan was hot and the team found him all night and he got on a roll especially in the 3rd quarter. Loren scored from Inside and out while Gus Grote distributed the ball getting a career high 10 assists. When those two are hot and Gus is handling the ball we are pretty good,” said a proud Coach Dan Hambrick. “This group has worked hard over the years and it is great to see it pay off,” added Hambrick.
The Toppers poured it on in the 2nd half scoring 20 points in the 3rd quarter and wrapping up a 69 - 52 victory. Shawe is now 2-3 on the year and travel to JCD on Friday.
