SHAWE BOYS OVER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY OF INDIANA 1-0 

The Hilltoppers gutted out a tough 1-0 win in their home opener on Monday night against Christian Academy of Indiana (New Albany).

The game was a very tough, with both teams battling hard in the midfield to control the game and making to halftime with a 0-0 score.

Shawe capitalized on an opportunity in the first few minutes of the second half when pressure from the Hilltopper attackers allowed Jonathan Lopez to force a turnover from the CAI defenders. A couple of touches later Hugo Rodriguez Stepien found Gus Grote who was able to score what ended up being the game winner in the 46th min.

CAI pushed to try to equalize but the Shawe defense (Aiden Edmonson, Loren Stiver, Connor Kahn, Johnny Cooke, Patrick Kahn and Taylor Ralston) along with Hilltopper keeper Clark Nichter held firm and were able to turn away every attack to secure the clean sheet victory!

This moves Shawe to 4-0-0 as they get ready to open conference play when they host South Ripley on Wednesday.

SOUTHWESTERN BOYS OVER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY OF INDIANA 4-1 

Southwestern Tennis defeated Christian Academy of Indiana 4-1 this evening. Winning for the Rebels were Quinton Lewis at #1 singles and Brady Bowman at #3 singles. Both doubles teams from Southwestern also won.

Luke Morrow and Colton Deputy won at #1 doubles and Luke Coles and Shane Hardy won at #2 doubles. The JV team split their matches 2-2.  Kobe Rogers and Markus Ambulance both won singles matches. The Rebels are 2-0 on the year and play New Washington on Wednesday.

VOLLEYBALL  

MADISON OVER ROCK CREEK 3-0 

Madison movd to 5-1 with a straight set win in Sellersburg against Rock Creek Academy, 25-15, 25-16, 25-10.

Madison was led by the serving of Ava Canida, Amiyah Napier and Anna Black 

Madison will travel to Charlestown on Thursday for a Mid-Southern Conference battle.  the JV starts at 6.
