GOLF: Madison 194 Charlestown 200 did not field a full team

Quote from Madison Head Coach Jake Shockley : There were a lot of positives tonight. As a team, our putting was very good. Coach Amanda does a heck of a job working on short game with the ladies. Plus, we take a lot of short putts, and they have really bought into the importance of putting, which can be difficult to get teenagers to do. Having three in the 40s with everybody in the first five having the potential to be in those numbers is a good place to be for us.

Eliza got medalist for the first time tonight, and she is getting out of her early-season slump to show who she truly is as a player.

Claire had a great bounce-back match, too. She couldn't get the ball off the hosel on Saturday, and anyone who has ever played golf knows how difficult that is to fix on the course. She is going to be a special player before it's all said and done.

It was good to have Tera back after an injury scare. We were worried that she might have been out for the season after tweaking an old injury she got last year, but she was back, striking the ball well. She even drove the green on hole nine this evening.

Unfortunately, Emmi is in a funk right now, and we're all struggling to figure it out. She's too good to stay in the numbers she's in right now. So, like I said after the New Palestine Invite, we're trending in the right direction even if the scores don't completely tell the entire story.
