Rising Sun 7, Shawe 6

Shawe Memorial hosted ORVC rival Rising Sun Friday night and played by far its best game of the season despite dropping a 7-6 decision. The Hilltoppers out hit the Shiners 10-7. Senior Trae Liston started on the mound and took the loss throwing 5 innings while allowing 7 runs only 3 earned. Fellow senior Tyler Hill pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief allowing 1 hit and striking out 3.The Toppers had 2-0 lead after 1 and a 3-2 lead after 3 innings before falling behind 7-3.  The Hilltoppers battled back with 3 runs in the 6th but that was as far as they could go. At the plate the Hilltoppers were led by Hill’ s 3 hits and an RBI. Luis Garcia had 2 hits and an RBI. Gus Grote had 2 hits. Trae Liston had an RBI single and catcher Brogan Johnson added a single.
