Battle of the Railroad Rivalry Game
Also, this Friday will be the Battle of the Railroad Rivalry Game between the Madison Cubs and the Jennings County Panthers. The two schools, separated by just 22 miles, have been playing football annually since 1968, but this year marks the 5th time that a traveling trophy will be presented to the winner of the game. With railroads connecting the two counties, both programs found it fit to call the rivalry the "Battle of the Railroad." The trophy is a piece of iron railroad track with two train engines pulling against each other. Once engine representing Madison and one engine representing Jennings County.
