He replaces Former Lady Hilltopper Head Coach Drew Kring
Shawe Memorial High School has announced the hiring of Isaac Auten as the school's new Head Girls Basketball Coach.
Coach Auten brings five years of high school coaching experience, having served as a boys junior varsity coach while also assisting varsity programs with game preparation, player development, and program organization. His passion for building relationships, developing young athletes, and fostering a positive team culture made him an outstanding fit for the future of Hilltopper Girls Basketball.
A newer member of the Madison community, Auten and his wife, Victoria, moved to the area in 2025 and have quickly become invested in the
community through their church and local youth athletics. As Youth Pastor at Madison Assembly of God, he works daily with young people and families while also coaching youth flag football and baseball throughout the community.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Auten to the Shawe Memorial family," said Athletic Director Jamison Bower. "One of the things that stood out throughout the hiring process was his genuine passion for mentoring the youth and investing in their growth both on and off the court. As a new member of the Madison community, he has already demonstrated a commitment to serving local youth, and we believe those experiences will translate extremely well as he leads and continues to develop our girls basketball program."
Shawe Memorial enters the upcoming season focused on building a strong foundation during a rebuilding year. School administrators believe Coach
Auten's emphasis on trust, relationships, and player development will help establish the culture necessary for long-term success.
Auten describes himself as a player's coach who believes trust is the foundation of any successful program. Having coached in small-school environments, he understands the importance of multi-sport athletes and values collaboration with other coaches to ensure student-athletes have positive experiences across all athletic programs.
"I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Shawe Memorial Girls Basketball program," said Auten. "I look forward to building relationships with our student-athletes, helping them grow as basketball players and young women, and becoming a positive part of the Shawe community. Together, we'll work to build a program that our school and community can be proud of."
