Tritt Added As Judge On Real Country

Begins this fall

Real Country an upcoming singing competition executive produced by Shania Twain, has found its third judge in Travis Tritt.

The eight episode series airing on USA Network finds judges Twain, Jake Owen  and Tritt personally selecting from a roster of solo artists, groups and duos that will perform in weekly showcases. The most promising artists from each showcase will have the opportunity to perform on the show's grand finale and the chance to be crowned as one of the genre's newest breakout stars.

The show will tape in Nashville in summer of 2018, with Twain serving as co-executive producer alongside Nicolle Yaron (The Voice, Rising Star), Stijn Bakkers (The Voice) and Leslie Garvin (Shark Tank).

Tritt, who's racked up seven No. 1 hits and a series of chart-topping albums, assures that he'll bring honesty to the judges table. "I've been influenced by so many amazing country artists in my career, and the key to longevity is using those influences as inspiration to become something unique," the "Best of Intentions" singer says.

"I've never been shy about how I feel about country music, so I can't wait to join Real Country to share my experiences and thoughts. Like I always say...if you don't want my opinion, don't ask me a question."

At the heart of the show is country music, with Twain sharing that she hopes to pay it forward by helping to discover new trailblazers for the genre. "I feel it’s time for me to add my own support in finding our greatest undiscovered talent. I’m on a mission to find artists who will keep country music diverse and dynamic — the kind of diversity that inspired all of us," the superstar reveals.

Real Country is set to air in fall of 2018.
